Williamsburg, VA Wineries

This past weekend I got the joy of paying my dues and being the massive Bachelorette party going to wineries, and dare I say, I absolutely loved it. Having a Wine Mouth as one of your Best Ladies means you get ALL the wine. The plan was impeccable so I thought I would share it all with you in case you wanted to do a Bachelorette weekend near Williamsburg, VA and hit up some wineries. I would advise on a bus rental from James River Transportation, and ask for the bus driver Iris (she gives the best hugs)!

*Disclaimer: These reviews are more apt if you have a group of 16 women ready to drink, with a mixed crowd of wine drinkers. I was more focused on having a good time over wine quality, but I guess that isn't much different than normal.*

1. Williamsburg Winery: We didn't have the greatest welcoming here, but Christian, our wine spirit guide made up for it. He was new, to our surprise, but did a fantastic job! He mastered the skill of talking about a wine over the chatter of 16 girls, not being offended with peoples disgust at some wines, but also being able to talk wine with those that wanted to know more. I would highly recommend this place for big parties. Oh did I mention the pours were huge! This was a crow favorite, if no other reason than the massive amount of wine we got for our price.

2. SaudΓ© Creek Winery: We received such a warm welcome here by the winemaker, Ben. We were escorted to our own room, already set up. This is a great place for large groups because they have a special room just for you! The pours were smaller but the wine was great. I highly enjoyed this one because Ben and I went off in wine land and could chat for hours. The remainder of the crowd had glassy eyes and were just eagerly waiting for the next wine.

3. New Kent Winery: This was a beautiful winery with great outdoor space. The tasting was good, though a little cramped for 16 people. It think at this point in the day we had finally become that obnoxious group of 16 women on a bachelorette weekend. The ladies here did great to manage the group, and try to talk about the wine. After our quick tasting, we sat outside and enjoyed wine and snacks. They have large picnic tables that are great for groups to enjoy lunch!

Whether you are on a Bachelorette or touring the historical spots, go check out the wineries in Williamsburg!

Cheers.
